God will forgive me and no jury will convict me: My son is
a dead man.

He lost the fucking iPod.

The hell I went thru and the $300.00 I paid and he lost it.

I certainly wouldn't convict you! Not after what you went through to upload
i-tunes!

2. All the more reason not to give expensive things to children.
I think of all the shit I lost...

Hell, I don't even buy expensive things for myself that get carried around, cuz I know I'll lose it somewhere, at some time. Or drop it in the sewer. Or some other such idiocy.

Sorry to hear that your son lost his iPod - hella good lesson he just learned, though, hopefully.

5. He's going to be 20 next month.
I didn't trust him to set the stupid thing up because he manages to wreck something on my computer every time he touches it.

Next year, when I get my new laptop, he is banned from even looking at it.

4. Maybe I can send you my son's Ipod.
He spent all his money on it in a fit of 11-year-old coolness, then listened to it maybe twice.

21. Good response! Will would even understand it.
Cripes, and I was stressing this afternoon over misplacing a pair of $10.00 ear studs.

He and Jenn are in the basement watching a movie and rarely surfacing this evening. He knows how pissed I am.

I work with parents and their "kids" all the time. At least 9 out of 10 would replace the damn thing, no later than Christmas and probably right away. ???????

32. Yup! Still holding out and it hasn'tbeen found.
He knows he's in shit and hasn't even bothered to ask if I will replace it - though I have loudly announced that I will not.

He gets paid on Friday - I'll bet that a new iPod is where the majority of it will go.

Of course, as soon as he buys a new one and uploads the music to it, the other one will be found - and then it will become *mine*.

LOL! And no, I didn't hide his iPod, as he has accused me of doing!

14. SUCKER!!!!!
:P

J/K

I know what that feels like, not that I'd even think of buying my son an IPOD...ever!

How old is he? Teenager, I'm guessing?

Make him buy his own next time...

If he earns the money himself? He'll take REALLY good care of it! ;)

PS. It was a gift and so, his to do with as he wishes.

Are you sure he didn't sell it?

He will be the one to replace it if it gets replaced. I will not buy another one. It was an early Christmas present because he has wanted one for so long and he really deserved to have something nice. It's been a very bad 1 1/2 years for our family and we were finally able to do this for him.

16. I understand... I really do.

I'm a single Mom with a son (19) with ADD and he forgets everything! I swear!

I've bought him nice stuff when I could least afford it to give him kudo's

and he promptly lost it too. :( I learned the hard way and stopped doing it!

When he wanted his license and a car? I made him pay for all of it!

It's astounding how he remembers and freaks out if he is one day late paying his insurance!

It's all a matter of priorities..... HIS!!!

But you have to forgive him. S**T happens and he'll learn from this, as will you.

proved it! The first thing he said to me when he got home this evening was, "Did you take my iPod to work with you and not leave me a note?"

Ummmmmmmm.....no.....I wouldn't take *his* iPod to work and even on the remote chance that I did, I'd leave a note.

He left it on my desk, so he says. I saw an iPod on it before I left this morning but I didn't know if it was his or Jenn's.

I will in no way have anything to do with him obtaining a vehicle. So far he is totally uninterested in getting his license but I am to the point that I want him to get it. I am sick of playing chauffeur. But I will not play any role in him obtaining wheels.

22. I got in an argument (sort of) with a business, over mail not delivered
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 10:38 PM by Breeze54
They "claimed" they sent me a letter and I told them emphatically that I never got the letter!!!

I looked high and low for the letter and it was nowhere to be found and I was frantic. (Last week)

Then I repeated that story to my son and then I went upstairs; pissed off and upset about it.

I came back downstairs about an hour later, and guess what? There, by the phone, was 'new mail'

dated TWO WEEKS ago that he had "forgotten" he'd put in his car and there was the letter! :grr:

I've been dealing with this for so long... I should've known and he never said anything to me

but I know, that he knows, that I know that he fucked up. What can you do?

23. Are we living parallel lives or something?
Will has pulled some stuff that just has us shaking our heads.

Roast Beef.

:wtf: you say?

Where in holy hell was the roast beef we bought at the deli yesterday? Neither my husband or I could find it this evening when we went to make sandwiches for supper.

Guess who "forgot" to put it back in the fridge?

You have my sympathy.

18. I haven't decided yet. Maybe I will get myself an iPod just
for spite and he can watch me having a good time listening to it.

Then I'll get his sister one. And then his Dad. Already got his girlfriend one and she is running around the house here plugged into it.

When everyone is opening their Christmas presents he will be thinking about his 2 week (11 days actually) ownership of an 80GB Black Classic.

Guess I don't have to buy the iPod speakers for his birthday now.

get a copy of the heaviest opera you can find (I recommend Don Giovanni...all 4 hours of it) and play it at ear-splitting level.

My husband is in charge of that type of music, so I don't know what we have.

I, on the other hand, could bombord him with Latin music for several hours.

27. That might work, so long as Pavarotti wasn't the tenor.
Edited on Sat Nov-03-07 02:56 AM by QMPMom
One of his childhood heroes was Pavarotti.

When he was 2 1/2 he'd stand on the end table and watch the Three Tenors video and pretend to be Zubin Mehta and "direct" the Tenors.

"Mehta diragir!" He'd say, (in German) and then say he was going to be an orchestra conductor when he grew up.

Where did that little boy go? *sigh*
