I am NOT going to Kroger at 10:30 pm to buy fruit for my dog!! So, she can just sit in front of the fridge and bark until Jesus comes back! Or until I have some time to run to the store tomorrow. Whichever comes first.

Thanks for letting me rant.

4. The idea of not getting an apple when she wants one
may prove traumatic for her.

It's a good thing I don't have kids.

5. I ran out of dry cat food today and was afraid for my life
My cats have gotten used to "second breakfast" and "second dinner" since I decided the canned food was too expensive to be their full diet. I split a small can between them twice a day, and then give them some dry food after all of the canned food is gone. Now they get really pissy when they don't get four "meals" a day. If someone feeds them both the canned and the dry at the same time, they demand second breakfast anyway.

Why not just ignore them, you say? Urd just does her "I haven't eaten in eight days" baby meow and gives me the pitiful face, but Neo starts arching and hopping sideways down the hall toward his dish, meow-shouting at me. He will do this every time I move anywhere in the house. He waits for me outside the bathroom to do this dance.

If I'm working on my laptop, he leaps up next to me and starts softly touching my face with one paw and meowing desperately. If I ignore that, it becomes a slightly-extended-claw paw-touch, just to let me know he's armed and dangerous. If I ignore that, he adds a really big yawn to show me his teeth, and if I ignore that, he starts slapping at me and nipping my arms and hands. But I think more than any of that, it's his patented Angry Little Cat face that finally gets to me.

:scared:

6. I, too fear for my life
when I run out of cat food.

Last night, I removed Claudia's food dish to wash it. Of course she knew immediately that her dish was being tampered with. She sat and GLARED at me
until the dish was returned to its proper place, with food.
