And not because the Seahawks just lost to the Browns, but because it just sucks.

Wish they would do it like they do at the college level.

2. Yup. Basically by a couple of inches on a 4th and 1 play.
So, the Browns got the ball, and managed to get down to within field goal range.

I don't like it because it seems to add extra weight to any mistake, even the smallest one. I'd rather see each team get a more equal chance to win the game.

3. I totally agree with you.
There is no "bottom of the inning" in pro football.

4. Exactly.
I don't know why the NFL insists on this sudden death shit.

8. If there was a bottom of the ninth in this game, it would have given
the Browns the chance to win since they were the home team....

9. Absolutely. But both teams would have had an equal chance at 3 outs.
In sudden death OT in football, I don't think it's as fair.

7. In this case at least the Seahawks had a chance with the ball.
Their own fault they couldn't pick up half a yard - or punt, knowing they couldn't pick up half a yard.

10. Again, this isn't about the Seahawks losing; under the current rules,
the Browns won fair and square, and I have no problem with that. No one cheated, so the win was good.

My complaint is with the system, the rules, as pertains to sudden death OT.

11. I'm not thrilled with the NFL system either.
And while the college system has its merits, a hard-fought game that ends in regulation in 17-17 just shouldn't end up 39-37 or some other ridiculous score. Just feels wrong!

Maybe the NFL should copy the college system - BUT each team gets the ball at midfield, not at the opp 25.

13. Such a shame that Seattle got their chance--
by winning the coin toss--and BLEW IT.

Went for it on Fourth Down and didn't get it.

You can't blame the NFL system for that!

Woooo-Hooooo!!

Great job Derek Anderson. Best damn Quarterback from the state of Oregon, and Oregon State, EVAR!!

17. One final time. I AM NOT COMPLAINING THAT SEATTLE LOST!
Under current rules, Cleveland won fair and square. And yeah, Seattle blew it by not getting the down.

That. Is. Not. The. Issue.

20. Sure, sure.
I think they should play out the entire OT session. If it's a tie after that, TS!

14. Wow they lost?
Last I had seen the Seahawks were winning like 21-7. Somewhere my Dad, Mr. Browns is very happy....
As for the overtime, I am kind of split on it...some of those college overtimes get crazy...and as someone whose team (Skins) have now won twice in sudden death overtime...well.....

18. Yeah, Hawks were doing well until the end.
Then the Browns really picked it up, and ended up winning.

I just want the rules changed a bit for OT.
