Saturday morning, I hiked for 4.8 miles. Hadn't originally planned to go that far, but if it's taking the pounds off, I can't complain too much. Ever since the Race For The Cure two weeks ago, I've been trying to make a hike of at least three miles my weekly ritual.

Your legs will feel better, but you'll never speak to me again.

3. Never heard of that kind of whirlpool before... |

...but it actually sounds rather inviting. I love my hot showers, but I'm not afraid of a little cold once in a while.

4. I used to coach track and cross country |

We had these big stainless steel tubs with a whirlpool motor and could fill them with either hot or cold water. The ice water whirlpools weren't too bad if you just had sore shins or a sprained ankle. But if you had a pulled hamstring, you would have to immerse yourself a lot deeper. The whirlpool action would make the cold a lot less fun. Who said coaches were sadistic?
