When, at the very end, they cut to "TO BE CONTINUED...", I almost fell off the couch laughing!

They used the "TO BE CONTINUED..." screen AND dramatic music from Star Trek: The Next Generation, the episode The Best of Both Worlds (Part 1), which was a season-ending cliffhanger that had Commander Piker ordering Worf to destroy the Borg ship that Captain Picard was on.

I remember watching that episode (at age 14) first-run with my friend Mike, and we were both so into it that we screamed "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" when we saw those three hated words appear on the screen.

And seeing them come out of the blue on Family Guy just as Lois walked into the courtroom brought back for about two seconds every single ounce of drama and suspense I had back in 1990!

And that's when I almost fell off of the couch, laughing at my own reaction! Seth MacFarlane has some 6th sense that just KNOWS how to get your brain to react like that!

Geeks out there will understand.
