1. For comparison purposes
what's the usual blood-alcohol level for 'shitfaced'?

2. Well, in Wisconsin legally drunk is 0.08.

But, heavy drinkers can actually do better than infrequent drinkers at that level. They're more used to the sensation and can compensate. But five times? That makes it 0.40, and many people are dead by then. By 0.55 it's considered commonly lethal. The reptilian brain that controls automatic functions like breathing, just shuts down.

Let me tell you, in my long ago stupid days, many many years ago, I wound up with a DUI, my level was 0.26, and I was coming in and out of consciousness. I can't imagine 0.40. Teenagers are particularly vulnerable to alcohol poisoning because they don't know their limits and often wind up in environments where it's considered cool to consume a lot.

5. This woman will suffer life-long alcohol-related physical damage.
If she never ever drinks again, her body will never be the same it was before she poisoned herself with alcohol. I hope she can recover enough to enjoy the life that she has.

It never ceases to amaze me that alcohol is legal, despite the obvious consequences of overdose. Meanwhile, marijuana laws - laws controlling a drug whose impact on the body is considerably less damaging than alcohol - continue to fill our prisons with cheap labor.

10. I'm sure she is.
One cannot be new to drinking and survive that level of alcohol poisoning. It takes years of practice, so to speak.
