Nerd Alert: Borg photoshop extravaganza (Pic heavy!!)
Edited on Mon Nov-05-07 08:28 AM by Cannikin
A pic of me for reference because I didn't have copies of the originals of myself that I inserted into these photos.

The original photo that I took is of a Borg drone on display at the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas

My crazy mug replacing the face

Added lighting effects

and finally, rendering small lens flares to try to simulate LED light and tinting some with color. I also replaced my eye with the glazed eye of the original photo.

This is one of my very first photoshops from 10 years ago when I was working 3rd shift at a newspaper and had nothing better to do than to tinker with this new program we had gotten called Photoshop. I just found the magazine with the original photo and it is dated Nov 97. I had no digital copy of it but I found a paper print of it and scanned it in.

This is the original photo of Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine.

This is my original creation scanned in from a faded 10 year old print.

I was very happy to stumble on that print when I was moving recently. And then after I found the original photo as well, I decided to utilize the cool new tools on the much newer version of photoshop I have now and enhance the original photo. I was pleased with the result.

A screen cap from the opening scene of Star Trek: First contact

The original scan inserted with some lens flare effects and an eye replacement

Later, I decided to use the rescan of the original Jeri Ryan photo and overlay it to to replace the faded color. Also, with some of the new tools in photoshop I was able to do some (in my nerdy opinion)neat things with the skin.

And the final product is re-inserted into the background (not pleased with the rough edges) and LED lens flares replaced and tinted, and the glazed over eye from the Las Vegas display overlayed.

1. wow, cool
thanks for posting. I've never really tried to photoshop anything, so I'm always impressed by good work at it.
