I just spent a long weekend in SA. What a great town!

Delicious food, good beers, lots of sites to see and the people are really some of the nicest I have ever met.

You San Antonians have it pretty good!

Thanks for the really great weekend.

6. Word.
I felt incredibly stifled there. My parents still live there, but I couldn't take it any more. I like visiting, but I'd rather live in Austin.

8. I spent a week in SA this August visiting my sister
SA is a nice city, but holy fuck I hadn't realized how muggy it is in Texas in the summer (I've lived in the deserts and coasts of socal all of my life), even when it was pretty mild (low nineties).

The things I liked about SA:
-HEB
-the Riverwalk
-Natural Bridge Caverns
-frogs and other critters were everywhere at night!

The things I hated about SA:
-Holy Christ who designed that moronic freeway system?? Also, why the hell are there barely any roads that actually cross or go underneath the freeways. In order to go from one side of a freeway to another, one must find a turnaround. When you take the turnaround, you end up on the road parallel to the one you were on, but on the other side of the freeway and heading the opposite way.

Like this diagram, instead there are barely any cross streets in SA.

-There aren't many major streets where you can drive down and find lots of things (like Ventura Blvd, etc in LA). Everything is off the freeways almost.

-seeing so many Spurs fans :P

9. did you go to a normal HEB or a Central Market, division HEB
HEB is a pretty good supermarket chain, all right. But Central Market is the BOMB! We have one up here in FW and I just love it.

Hey once you get used to those turnarounds, you really miss them when you are in a strange town. I missed an exit in Nashville a couple weeks ago and could not get back on the freeway no how no way....forgot I wasn't in Texas, where my friendly turnaround or crossover was there to save me.

11. Keep in mind we had a very weird summer this year
Summers are usually crispy hot, not muggy. All the rain and flooding this past spring made TX feel tropical. Very odd.
