Can you change drivers during a NASCAR race? |
|
You can change the tires, but not the oil.
How does that bode for who's behind the wheel?

1. Yes, and they do.... rarely..... because..... |
|
it takes about a minute or to get a guy out and get another guy in and all buttoned up with the safety restraints. During that time you go a lap or more down and are out of the running to win or finish high up.
They do when a driver gets sick but it's very rarely.

3. it all depends on the track |
|
a driver change at a track 1 mile and under will cause the car to go a lap or more down to the leader, but at a track like Daytona, Talladega or Pennsylvania a driver change can be done in about a minute, so long as the team as made arrangements before the race starts.

4. Also, the replacement driver has to be "qualified" for that track. n/t |
