I have an emergency.
My coffee pot is broke.

I knew this would happen eventually but I truly was not prepared. I feel so alone and scared; so vulnerable.

1. Put your mouth directly under the drip basket
You'll be okay. You can buy a new one tomorrow...

:-)

2. The water won't go through! Maybe if I heat some water and pour it into
the basket? Maybe I should calm down because 4AM is not the time I should be drinking coffee anyway. :hi:

3. Or...
just put a pinch of coffee grinds between your lower gum and your cheek. Like Skoal, but swallowable! :-)

11. I didn't know that. But I always did wonder at the cowboys sitting around
the fire with a coffee pot cooking. I guess there could have been a metal strainer but I bet more often they just added coffee and let the grains settle to the bottom.

14. And you know what?
the coffee tastes a lot better that way.

And you can get those "coffee presses" to make it that way without the grains in the coffee :)

12. Why not just chew up the beans?
Hope I didn't offend with my "eww", but there's just something about those bitter coffee grinds that just .. well ...
you get the idea.. let's just say it's "not my thing".

15. That's OK
not offended at all. Main reason I don't drink coffee anymore is the bitter taste. And I don't like milk or sugar in it to "soften" it. I prefer tea these days.

18. buy a percolator to have on times for when this happens
percolated coffee is better anyway, but as long as your stovetop is working, you'll always have coffee.
