Tired (Stupid) Husband Moment of the Night:
He put our son's sleeper on Backwards. As in, feet pointing backward. When I pointed it out, he said IT DIDN'T MATTER. Grrr....

He's just tired. I am, too. The whole house is sick -- the kids (twin eight-and-a-half month olds, for those who don't recognize my username because I don't post as often lately) and I are fighting off colds, and he's recovering from a nasty virus. Its amazing the things that make you want to whack someone upside the head for pure idiocy. Normally he's a pretty conscientious dude, but tonight he was just having one of those "what does it matter" moments, and didn't want to be bothered redressing a squirmy eight-and-a-half-month old baby, so Mommy got to do it.

Then of course we got to bicker about whether or not it was important or not for a good half hour. :eyes: I think I'm going to dress our children in inside-out clothes for the next family gathering just to prove a point -- humph!

I finally "won" :eyes: the argument by telling him it didn't matter whether or not it seemed important to him, because it was obviously important to me, and sometimes you just have to suck up the fact that things are important to other people in a relationship when they aren't that important to you and dressing our kids in clothes with the feet pointing forward is one of those things he's simply going to have to accept as "weird" about me.

Then I flounced off to the computer to whine about the situation.

I'm feeling so mature at the moment! :sarcasm:

Sigh. I love my babies to pieces, and as long as mommy has any say, their feet will point forward!

:patriot:

2. Both peed and pooped -- LOL!
Our daughter got us both pretty early on! I swear she was annoyed at the whole "diaper changing experience" and just AIMED at us like a little skunk! I went a couple of months without getting peed on, and then my son was wakened, I wasn't careful, and got the full firehose treatment! Keeps me on my toes! LOL! I love my babies! And now that my sense of humor is coming back, I guess I love my husband, too. Even if he is being kind of a doofus. Sigh. He is just really tired. So am I. I should finish making bottles for the morning, and get myself to bed.

Think of me, lounge, when you are all playing around all night! :hi:

3. Oh, Bless your heart
Having twins can be such a strain, and hubby was just probably having a bad night.

Good and healthy to get it off your chest though.

5. Glad you won!
It reminds me of a chapter in a book I read, I think it was called "Wifework". The woman came home and found hubby'd put her kids to bed in their clothing from that day. She asked why he didn't put on their pajamas and he said he didn't believe in pajamas, lol. The chapter was called "Believing in Pajamas" and she was talking about some of the same things. :)

6. So you are the "boil the bottle because it touched the floor" one?
and your husband is the "in the scheme of things all that matters is that we are all safe" type?

Yeah that is how my wife and I got.

:bounce:

Let me guess-you all got sick from the daycare? or is it from something else? I got wiped OUT on several occasions by the daycare-petri dish. I literally missed two weeks of work from just walking in that thing on two consecutive visits (space 4 days apart)

Don't worry everyone goes through it. And about the fighting I confided in some co-workers about how we were always fighting and they all brushed it off with an "Oh yeah everyone does that" ---really not one person mentioned that in the run up to us having Josie. NOT ONE.

7. Well, I totally understand getting annoyed when you're tired and ill
But sometimes you do have to look at the larger picture. It isn't going to hurt the kid to wear his sleeper backwards and you have a husband who actually puts clothing and diapers ON the kid.

When I was first married, my husband used to drive me nuts the way he did laundry. He folded everything differently than I did. But then someone pointed out to me that at least he did it and since we had 2 small kids, it really was a help - and I realized that the help it was far outweighed the fact that he did it differently.

Just my experience.
