This is the well-known "I'm absolute queen of my own domain but DAYUM I'm scared to death of your five pound cat!!!" syndrome.

Not a damned thing I can do about it except comfort the poor kitty-whipped (literally) puppy.

3. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six!
Oh, the poor baby!

Did you finally get her to get down?

Maybe the cat went away and then the coast was clear!

4. She stayed on my lap until I took her home.
I was puppy-sitting while my sister was at the doctor's office.

Never seen such a baby in all my born days.

5. We had a yellow lab and a cat
If you called the dog by name, she would just look at you, but not get up in her old age.

If you called the cat by name, the dog would get up, come over to you, but turn her head to avoid looking at you, appearing pitiful.

Once I accidentally called the dog by the cat's name and the look of horror on the dog's face was a sight to behold --it was as if I'd thrown perfectly good dog food into the garbage.

6. Awww...
That was apparently a very smart dog who wanted more attention. :)

10. I'd rather have a dog on my lap than a pissed off sister in my face.
Trust me on this one.
