Poll question: Which is the worst company to deal with?
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 02:13 PM by janesez
Factor in everything - hold/wait times on the phone, incompetent installers/tech people, unbelievably bad customer service in-store, inability to get a live, English-speaking person on the phone, fucking up your bill, giving you an impossibly hard time when you call to tell them they fucked up your bill, continuing to charge you after you cancel service, ETC!

7. Have to agree, but it's especially unfortunate that we have to...
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 02:09 PM by Mr_Jefferson_24
...choose between poor, piss poor, really piss poor, and really really piss poor customer service.

BTW, "really really piss poor" is giving Comcast the benefit of the doubt -- there should actually be a couple dozen more "reallys" in there.

4. They're both fucking horrible!
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 02:04 PM by janesez
What's the difference! I've had such bad customer service in both stores that I have to look and see if the mouth-breathing cretin standing in front of me shrugging while grunting monosyllables in answer to my question is wearing a red or blue shirt to even know which store I'm in!

9. Nope. Verizon merged with MCI.
AT&T merged with SBC. They're still two separate companies, and each other's big rival.

12. There are two articles in two different Advertising industry
magazines about how the great re-branding campaign from Cingular back to AT&T is one of the biggest fuck-ups in advertising history.

When SBC bought AT&T (the second worst buying the worst telecom company) I groaned. When I heard that they were putting so many AT&T people in charge and keeping the AT&T name I knew they were doomed. They were keeping the worst and purging what little was good.

Then AT&T bought Bell South and did it again!

And that gave them 100% ownership of Cingular, so of course the did it a third time!

How many times can a company fuck themselves up and stay in business? x(

10. I voted AOL
I called to cancel my service as we were switching to another internet provider a couple years back. I get a letter in the mail saying I called to keep my service, now why would I call to continue a service? Any way, I kept getting these letters and charges for months...FINALLY it all got straightened out, but it was an ordeal.

16. BellSouth.
What other company would screw up on your bill by 200 dollars, refuse to admit their mistake... and make it impossible to get to a live person to talk about this mistake. Then when they start sending bills, they give you a phone number to call. But since they disconnected your phone service and took you out of the computer, you aren't in the system anymore. And guess what the first question the automated machine asks when you call that number is? That's right. They ask "What is the phone number associated with this account." When you type in your now disconnected phone number it simply responds, "I'm sorry, you are no longer a BellSouth customer." Click.

17. WalMart and/or Bank of America
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 02:52 PM by EstimatedProphet
BofA because they have a fee for every single thing. Eventually they will start having fee fees, and then all their accounts will be in trouble.

WalMart because they're WalMart.

20. I guess so
I freely admit when I call tech support I am useless (otherwise why would I be calling) so I'm sure some of the problem is on my end. I just quit using it finally and went a long time without a virus scan and then loaded this avast.com free anti-virus and I like it okay.
