There was a Salvation Army guy at the door of the supermarket last Saturday. He was enterprising, bringing carts to people walking through the parking lot. I had to put something in the kettle.

I also hate all the ads -- for food, cars, computers -- that already have a holiday theme in November. :grr: It just rubs it in that we're supposed to consume, consume, consume.
But the people who really scare me are those at the radio station who play Christmas music all November. I love Christmas music and probably don't belong on this thread (though I did get my Christmas cards from a politically progressive store, so I hope that counts), but only a certifiable lunatic programs Christmas music for the entire month of November.

|
I'd like to pay 'em back for the endless Christmas music, the crowded stores, crappy ads flogging crappy junk and the haranguing to buy it, the screaming kid lines, the tacky ghastly decorations, etc. I have issues; I loathe this time of year. So, I'm for full berserker mode --
"Merry Christmas and bless you."
"Up yours."

In which case, the liberals have won!
