Help with "a poem, advice or a memory for a soon to be married couple" ??
My niece is getting married rather precipitously - she's 19, he's 26. Anyway, they're tying the knot the day after Thanksgiving (this Friday) and in their invitation they have requested some advice to be written on a little piece of paper to be returned to them with the card or presents.

I'm lame at this kind of thing. Anyone have any favorite marriage- related (preferably positive!!) quotes they'd like to offer?

1. Apache Marriage Blessing
Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other.

Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth for the other.

Now there is no more loneliness.

Now you are two persons,
but there is only one life before you.

May your days together be good and long
upon the earth.

7. Hiya Parche!

lol - they are really rushing things, and my niece is not known for the constancy of her decisions. But... we'll all keep our fingers crossed, and just pray that she doesn't get pregnant right away! :hi: I bailed on going out there - just had NO DESIRE to travel during this weekend, even to see my niece get married.

You have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too!

I must have had the unfinished banister in my marriage!

Lots of splinters and I'm divorced too.

9. Never cook bacon in the nude
It truly was tongue in cheek advice from my MIL to my wife after we tied the knot. We were shacked up for over ten years and eight months preggers when we did, but MIL felt she had to pass on advice to her daughter. MIL is pretty cool.
