Cooking segments!1 Please, NO MORE cooking segments!1 |
|
Not that I believe anybody copies them.
The working people I knew at work DIDN'T HAVE TIME to do all the "gracious living" SHIT!1

4. I answered a question about your stove when it blew up. |
|
I figured you had gotten a new one! What "cooking segments" are you talking about? Do you mean all the turkey ones on FoodTV?

5. Oh, thanks for answering back then & remembering!1 No, I don't watch the Food Network |
|
I was just commenting on all the network and cable stuff, being driven by whatever-is-supposed-to-be-NEWS-TODAY!1 Like, all day today and yesterday, all the airport stuff, PLUS on ALL the outlets, COOKING SEGMENTS!!1
I mean, does anybody really DO all those recipes? As for my comment about working people and cooking, my co-workers were, of course, working people, male and female. We had this boss's wife, who was stay-at-home, who would come by and tell the working women that she had just BAKED BREAD "for (her) family."
As the spawn of a working mother, working parents, I *knew* my dear mom would not have had the time or energy to BAKE BREAD for us. And we wouldn't have expected it.

How many ways are there to cook a turkey, anyway? Most everybody I know already have their own recipies. And tell me when the last time Sea-Tac didn't have fog delays over Thanksgiving? It's always a mess this time of year!
When I was a kid in the '50's, the Mom across the street, Mrs. Murphy, DID make bread from scratch all the time...they had a large famiy. Now they have bread machines that do the same thing. When I was on surplus food in the late '60's, I used to get 30# of flour a month, so I learned how to make bread and hated every minute of it...it's hard work! I used to have a customer who made me a loaf in her machine once a month when I came to clean. I'd walk into her house and smell baking bread...it doesn't get any better than that!
I love potato salad made with new potatoes...you didn't peel them, did you?
