For those enduring/enjoying the holiday with tons of family: Let the role playing begin!!!!
Though wife and I and sibs are fifty somethings, when all get together at a holiday with the old folks, you are instantly transformed into 8 and 9 year olds. Birth order issues trump all. Expectations of doing/liking/eating/acting/saying are that nothing has changed and that we are still children.

Of course the role playing can also include the stereotypical: Drunk. Loser. Overacheiver. Prodigal son. These roles can be permanently assigned, (my dad had the drunk part down cold), or shift around as family sees fit.

I can relate. I'm treated like I'm 13, so at times I act 13. Might as well enjoy myself...
