Ahhh, I like not having to cook today... |
|
Well, I did get up at 8 and make a bunch of cranberry sauce, but later on we're driving to my lovely SIL's house for dinnah with the family. Nice relaxing day.... :)
Happy Thanksgiving y'all! :hi:

1. This is the only time of the year I cook. |
|
Turkey's in the oven after soaking in brine for 12 hours.
Made a chocolate pecan pie, too! Hope it tastes good.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and sniffa!

We took Thanksgiving cooking classes at Williams Sonoma every Sunday for a month before T-Day. 9am, learning how to cook turkey with hangovers...good times. :D

9am on a Sunday does not compute. Does that time actually exist?

I'd tell you whose recipe it is, but it would cause a scandal of international proportions.
Safe travels today, darlin'.

13. IMO you can only call it stuffing if you stuffed the bird |
|
which I didn't :hide:
and yes, i had to brine since the darned thing wasn't defrosted yesterday, it spent a couple hours in the sink so it was easy to add sugar and salt

Ya got me there x(
So if you stuff the bird, and then have some left over, do you call them by different names when you serve them? :P
I've never cooked a frozen bird...I think it would stress me out. :o
Have a great day!

15. it was mostly defrosted, but still had some ice in the cavity |
|
so a bath in the sink took care of it
and no, I usually call it stuffing too but found better recipes online under 'dressing'
