Have you gone to one or hosted one? How did it go? Was the stuff any good?
A friend is having one tonight, I'm invited but I'm not sure if I want to go.
edit: please try to keep it clean enough to stay open, folks. Thanks.

Had a cake shaped like a male's genitalia. There was also an ice sculpture of the same shape. Oh and candy necklaces and other party favors.

4. I've never been...and it would depend entirely on who was hosting it as to whether I'd go. |

If it's the friend with the bored-housewife friends who answered thusly when I asked my friend if she was planning to return to her job after her baby was born -- "She's going to have the most IMPORTANT job in the WORLD! She'll be a MOMMY! And YOU can't POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND what that MEANS!" -- then no. I have a hard enough time being around that group at a regular gathering; I just don't want to be around them squealing and giggling about vibrators and "eeeew"-ing at anything with the "safe for anal use" label. Which you know they will. (Edit: She hosts Pampered Chef. I don't go to those either.)
Someone I went to college with, maybe.

You'll see. They are quite fun and a great place for women to let their hair down and talk about sex.

I went to one many years ago - it was given by a co-worker. Talk about getting to know your fellow employees.....
She served margaritas, so that made it even funnier.

23. I used to be the salesperson running those parties |
|
It was a company called Just For Play, over 20 years ago. It was a blast doing those parties. One time I did a party hosted by a woman whose ex-husband was a cop, and he and his partner stopped by the party, in full uniform, in the middle of their shift. One of them bought something.

I was mgr in charge of training...and it was in the early 80's for me.
I bet the officers coming in like that in full uniform was a surprise!

That's a riot. Most people have never heard of the company. I worked in the early '80s also. Were you based in NY? I worked in the Boston area. Did you ever do trainings there? That job was so much fun. It was a surprise when the officers came in, but I knew that it was the hostess' ex-husband so I didn't freak out. I had even more fun doing my presentation because the cops came out of curiousity and were sometimes laughing uncomfortably, so of course I laid it on thick while describing the products. :D
