So that's where my Betta went! |
|
Last week my Betta came up missing. He was in a 10-gallon aquarium with a handful of swordtails. Then he wasn't in the aquarium. I checked the floor, but Bettas don't jump...or do they?
Mystery solved. This Betta loved to be petted--if you stuck your finger in the water he'd bump up against it and run his fins over the finger. This morning, I saw my oldest black cat sitting on the tank the Betta was in, dipping water out and licking it off her paw. Only thing I can figure out is that the cat stuck her foot in the water, caught the Betta and ate it.
I'm building a new hood for that tank.

What a way to lose a fish. I'm sorry.
That's a rather sweet, funny story, though.
What's the cat's name?
PS Bettas do jump. I almost lost one in a transfer because I didn't hold it within the net.
