I just saw Sicko.
I bought the DVD.

I am very pissed off. I think everyone needs to see this movie.

1. My wife an I spent an hour discussing how to get out of this country
after seeing it.

If America lived up to its ideals, we'd be great, but currently, we suck. :-(

2. You betcha...
I keep saying I'm gonna buy a copy for our local library. This way, I can share the pain we all must look squarely at. We really must deal with this,

3. It's part of why we're leaving
Not the biggest part, but a part nonetheless. I don't want to spend the rest of my life worried about health care costs, especially given that I have a chronic illness.

5. Be careful where you want to go for this.....

In The Netherlands - and possibly elsewhere in European countries - privatization of the health care system is in my eyes taking great strides to making health care here more like the US system. :grr:

Each year it becomes more expensive, and each year you hear more about people not being covered for what they expected to be covered for.

I can't change health insurance companies and policies now as my health history makes me unable to take this step.

6. My husband and I ARE leaving the country...and healthcare is a big reason why.
Why would anyone stay, if they didn't have to? What a mess of a country...

7. I saw it in the theater last summer.
So many people were sniffling when the movie ended.

It is outrageous that we've come to this point.
