Has anyone here ever used a floatation take (sensory deprivation tank)? |
|
I'm interested and would like to hear more about your experiences.

2. Doesn't a warm bath in the dark achieve the same effect? |
|
Why would you need a special tank?
I prefer candlelit baths, but everybody's different.

it was amazing. I did it as an attempt to move through my claustrophobia, so it was powerful for me on a lot of different levels.
The water was tepid, but comfortable, eventually I wasn't even aware of it. It was a bit strange at first having absolutely no sensory input (light, sound, anything)....but my mind provided lots of distractions and thoughts.
Eventually I felt like I was a part of everything. It's hard to describe, but it was great.

7. I have not used one, but have had some sensory deprivation experiences |
|
Not a full tank, but just a mask, so that there is no visual input, even with eyes open. It can definitely take you to other places, consciousness-wise, and emotionally. I would suggest having a safe and supportive person there for you when you "come back out" from it. In my experience, that part, especially, has been very intense.
