4. Well, I suppose it's all right as long as it's kosher.
If one were to serve that with kosher lobster it would be quite the Chanukah feast.

11. As I said in the other thread, this isn't as funny as it looks
To copy and paste (so you can all feel my pain :))...

For my first year at college, I lived at a Catholic dorm. I got put there kinda because they ran out of other places for me, but that's neither here nor there.

So at Passover I asked if the noodles they were serving were egg noodles, so they immediately figured I was Jewish. They say to me, "oh hang on, we made something special for Passover". They come out with some odd mystery meat with pineapple on it. Now I know only one kind of meat come with pineapple... so I say, "what's that?" "Ham!" they reply.

I drifted off to my table in shock. I mean, here they go out of their way to try and honor a relatively minor law (minor in that it happens only eight days per year), and violate the one that's in force all the time. I gave the ham to one of my friends, when this Ukrainian Orthodox guy went in and pretended to be Jewish just so he could confront them (I told him not to)... anyway they ran out and bought a slice of fish for him and he gave it to me in surprise fashion. Definitely an embarrassing experience.

12. Oh dear
Sorry about your dreadful experience. What an awkward position to be in!

Nonetheless, I am amused by the cluelessness of the grocer that labelled the ham.
