Anyone seen Herzog's "Rescue Dawn"? |
I'm a big fan of his. But I'm reluctant to see this because of everything I've read about the making of the movie. Is it worth seeing? How does it compare to his earlier movies?

3. There was a long article in the New Yorker |
It dealt with how Herzog does a lot of winging it when he's shooting. He doesn't block out all his shots and doesn't work from storyboards. This was a Hollywood produced movie and the cinematographers were constantly fighting with him.

4. I saw it. If you are a big fan of his, you will probably like the movie. |
I did. Except for the ending, which apparently wasn't true to the story it's based on. I suspect he was made to do it that way.
Christian Bale is great. The other performances are great. It's beautifully filmed, and you leave with a lot to think about. It should have done better at the box office than it did.
