MANCHESTER – The U.S. Postal Service is investigating a complaint about political postcards that were never mailed before last month's elections.

Peter Sullivan, who narrowly won the city's Ward 3 alderman seat from incumbent Pat Long, said about 75 postcards stamped and sent to the Goffe's Falls Road office before Nov. 1 were returned to him unmailed Monday .

"There is something about it that doesn't smell right," said Sullivan, a Democrat. "I'm going to ask for an investigation.

"I'm going to speak with the local postmaster first," he said. "Beyond that, I'm planning on calling the postal investigators."
