2. I don't like the look of Ledger's Joker |
|
he looks like a guy who didn't make the cut to be in Slipknot or some other crap nu-metal band. Give me Jack Nicholson over that

4. YES...the Joker is insane, not funny... |
|
...and the critical element that Frank Miller understood is that the jokes are only funny inside of the Joker's "reality"...the reality that makes him a homicidal maniac.
I say that after watching and thoroughly enjoying every single Cesar Romero "Batman" episode ever produced.
But in the pure sense, in Bob Kane's original portrayal of The Joker, he is one sick bastard.

On the one hand, he really looks like a sick bastard that you really want to steer clear of. But even on the grittier end of the Batman comics he looks a lot more put together and less ragged.
These are just stills though, judging by the last effort, the look in the actual movie should be great.

7. They seem to have learned the George Clooney lesson... |
|
...and God Bless George Clooney, he got it, when he referred to his movie as the one that "single-handedly killed the Batman franchise..."
So the Christian Bale flicks are a new beginning, and the "Keaton-to-Clooney" films lay out a road map of what worked and what didn't.
My gut is telling me that "Dark Knight" will probably be a pretty cool film.

The Joker has always, always been drawn as a very slender man. Ledger is too damn big to really get the look. Nicholson was so beautifully insane that I could get past it - but I don't think Ledger will do nearly that kind of job. Jude Law could really have had the look, I think, if he could get rid of the accent, and I thought that the actor who played the Scarecrow in the first movie could easily have been a great Joker.
