Anyone reading the Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series by George R.R. Martin?
When is the next book supposed to be released? I read that HBO bought the rights and is planning a series.

3. sounds like an emphatic "no" he's not done yet
Martin is a good liberal, though. I remember a nice post on his website following the 2004 "election" of Bush.

4. he does that every book.
There was one for AFFC too. I think it's his way of saying 'stop bugging me about it, I'm too busy writing the damned thing to answer emails asking if I'm done yet.'

Okay, you have to. Seriesly.

8. I know, I know
Since my daughter has been born, my reading has been limited to level 1 & 2 books from the children's section at Barnes & Noble, and the works of Eric Carle & Dr. Seuss.

10. A series? Really?
I hope they don't mess with it to smithereens. There is SO much detail in those books, could be years and years worth of TV...

Love the books, cannot wait for the next one!!

13. read them slowly
terrific books, but it was such a long wait after book 2 to book 3 and then from book 3 to Feast for Crows that it took me a while to remember all the characters.

14. I normally hate fantasy, but this was excellent.
The only other fantasy novels I've read and really liked were Robert E. Howard's original Conan stories from the 30's, and I like them both for the same reason..the worlds they create are very vivid and thought out with great characters and settings, and so the trappings don't overwhelm the characters (I'm normally a hard sci-fi guy, so dragons and knights and stuff has never been my bag).

I'm hoping I'll finish the ones out so far just in time for the next one. I had the same trouble remembering characters in the environmental trilogy that Kim Stanley Robinson just finished, so I know the wait can be a pain. :)
