Why are the Japanese fascinated with robots.
I saw just reading a news article about a robot built to play the violin.

The Japanese as a whole seem to be much more curious about Robots than anyone else.

The interesting part for me is knowing why ? What is unique in Japanese Culture that predisposes them to have such an interest?

1. Robots will be the perfect Japanese - 24/7 emotionless pure Zen existence
with no moral conscience or ethical dilemmas.

Plus, the Japanese have long had a fascination with small things and artfully designed and efficient mechanical things.

But if a culture were to ever use robots as a warrior army force, it would be the Japanese.

6. The Japanese have effected an almost perfect culture, and I'm partnered to one.

Why would I be racist toward them?

I offered a bit of tongue-in-cheek hyperbole, yes, but it's still accurate in its foundation.

2. Maybe because their birth rate is declining, the population is aging, and
they have a relatively low (low, low, low) number of foreign workers who can take the lowest paid/most mundane jobs. //No Japan expert here, but that seems like a possibility//

5. Because their unconditional surrender said nothing about a ROBOT ARMY
Huh? McArthur didn't know who he was dealing with. They had it all worked out back then. MacArthur didn't understand their culture and their history they have always been preparing for the inevitable and though not able to sustain a standing army of men they began developing an Army and Navy of robots because out there they just knew it was coming........
