The BlueIris Semi-Nightly Poetry Break, 12/9/07
"Not Writing"

A wasp rises to its papery
nest under the eaves
where it daubs

at the gray shape,
but seems unable
to enter its own house.

2. My dear BlueIris...
Ah....writer's block for wasps!

Luckily, I haven't yet been plagued by this one....*fingers crossed*

I like this poem...

Thank you...

3. Yeah, I hope to avoid returning to this level of alienation from self.
For me, the source of my own "not writing" period was an absence of meaningful self-worth as well as total unawareness of that lack. Now that I understand I'm "good enough" to express myself, to express my thoughts in art, I doubt I'll ever be unable to write again, if that is what I choose to do with my time. But at the moment, the quality of the writing I'm producing is crap. Even though I write it feels like I'm not as connected to my work as I could be. So I thought of this piece and posted it.

4. I guess I'm lucky...
My writing is so much a part of me that there's no way I could be disconnected from it.

I have to write, to get the words out.

I'd go mad if I couldn't express myself freely...
