I'm already sick of the mice. |
|
And they haven't even started making noise tonight. They were wicked busy last night, though.

2. Hmmm...that would work. |

He could get to places the cats can't. But I fear he's hibernating now. Lord, I hope so. It's too cold for a snake out there!!

4. I have three cats, and a very interested beagle. |
|
The mice are in the walls, where the critters can't get to 'em. The minute one of 'em makes itself readily available, it'll be a goner.
A house with three cats and a beagle. Not the smartest mice in the world.

6. That's my great fear. They could do some real damage. |
|
Even cause a fire. Wish I could figure out a way for the cats to get to them.

When I moved in, the foundation was in awful shape. Lots of holes. But it was repaired last spring, after a skunk got into my basement. That made the Trustees take notice!! It's an old house, built in 1888. There are probably lots of places they could be getting in still.

9. Yeah. Now that is cold weather...it is probably too late. |
|
I filled all my holes with steel wool. They can sound like a herd of elephants. Sounds like a neat old house, though.

10. It's a huge old house. Belonged to the owner of one of the local |
|
silica mines. The family donated it to the church, thinking it would be torn down for parking. Instead, the church used it for office space and Sunday School rooms for several years. They owned another house on a street that has become very busy and noisy. So, when I came here, they switched houses and made this one the parsonage. But they hadn't kept it up very well in between. They've done a lot of work, but there's more to be done.
It has lots of space, stained glass windows, two fireplaces, great woodwork.
And mice.

16. Good Luck with it. Once you get rid of the mouse, stuff all |
|
holes you can find (around drain pipes for one) with a fine grade of steel wool. They can't chew through that. :pals:

|
All night long it's "mice, mice, baby" da da da,da-da, da da
I find that the old-fashioned spring trap works on them, although it is a little bit gruesome.

|
They just knew I need to sleep on Saturday nights. If this keeps up, I'm canceling their lease.
