"This isn't nerd-stuff! It's about travelling to Mars!" |
|
said my boyfriend just now, when he put on some nerd show.
"Nerdy would be travelling to another solar system! This is science!"
He was sincere.

4. I'm not a nerd. I'm a science-enthusiast. |

And traveling to other solar systems can only happen if we build generational-ships.
We can make it to Mars in under a year with current technology and then shake hands with the Martians and kill them and steal their cure for cancer. THAT'S some fuckin' real science right there.

9. Yes, the Prime Directive |

Approach peacefully, learn about them, and offer them membership in the Union. THEN kill'em and rape the planet!
Gotta do that in order or else people get confused...

7. Zubrin? Mars-Direct? In situ resource utilization? |
|
Yeah, it's do-able and for a fraction of the cost of the NASA approach.
But we're too busy policing the planet. Do you have any idea how much it costs to be the world police?

it's a multi-part series about what it would take to travel to Mars. It's pretty good, actually. edit: here's some info http://science.discovery.com/convergence/mars-rising/mars-rising.html
