Rush fans check-in!!! One of the best bands out there and not in the "Hall of Lame"

I watched a VH1 Classic about the greatest drummers of all time and figured it would be Moon & Bonham in some order for 1 and 2. But I keep forgetting what an amazing talent Neil Peart is (who btw, was #2 with Bonhan and Moon coming in #1 and #3 respectively).

Here is a band with an amazing catalog of music and extremely talented members with Peart, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson and they aren't in the Hall of Fame?

Did you know this little bit of fact about Rush?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_%28band%29

As a whole, Rush boasts 24 gold records and 14 platinum (3 multi-platinum) records. These statistics place Rush fifth behind The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Kiss and Aerosmith for the most consecutive gold and platinum albums by a rock band.

Love 'em, and as an amateur drummer I think Peart is the greatest.

Thanks for mentioning them! :hi:

3. Peart is one of the greatest drummers ever
Their most recent album was pretty damn good...despite Geddy Lee. Like fingernails on a chalkboard, that guy.

4. One of the greatest rock bands ever, and some of the most amazing live shows
I've ever seen.

Fuck yeah!

And they're too good for the Hall of Lame. If they ever get nominated, I hope they refuse.

10. I am a HUGE Rush fan!
I got all excited just this morning because I read that they were extending their Snakes & Arrows tour into 2008 and coming back to America.

For their 30 Year Tour, I shelled out a truly exorbitant amount of money for front row center tickets. It was worth it. And Geddy threw me a shirt from his dryers, which I am going to frame with the tickets someday.

11. No way am I missing Rush this time around
We were going to swing by the PNC Center in New Jersey on the way home from Live Earth to catch Rush (they were playing there on Sunday) but my friend had a family member pass away so we had to leave early that morning.

But Rush is on my list only to see my one main Rush "Holy Grail" song - and that's "Closer to the Heart"

That is a shame they didn't get in.

19. I like them before Geddy went all synthy.
I can appreciate their talent in their later stuff, I just don't like it very much. I think my favorite album is still 2112.
