I must say the show exceeded my expectations, though that does not mean it will survive. FOX sure plugged it quite a bit for months. I'm not so sure how accurate the show's portrayal of Orange County is, however, given the major disparities between cities like Santa Ana and Newport Beach.
Still, I found the basic storyline to be engaging and promising, with several possibilities for subplots. It's not 90210 or Melrose Place, nor is it the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
