1. Wilco for me...
I just love Jeff Tweedy's voice.

2. do you have a favorite song/album?
I have to admit that I like stuff Jay Farrar has done solo, but I didn't list him...maybe I should. Can I edit a poll?

6. Uncle Tupelo
My favorite band of all-time; I saw them live 4 times before Jay and Jeff went their own way:

7. Uncle Tupelo
It's the same situation as I have with Husker Du. Such a big part of what I love about the original band is the juxtaposition of the two styles of singing and songwriting. While I can take the solo (meaning separate not just one artist) stuff of the members in small doses, in both the Husker Du and Uncle Tupelo instances, nothing hits me like the original.

15. Yeah me too. I saw UT long long ago along with about 30 other
people in my crappy rock club. I think Wilco are good, but it isn't rocknroll to me. Husker Du and UT were both far better than any of their offshoots IMO.

8. Uncle Tupelo
I walked into a little bar in Minneapolis once many years ago, and an amazing band was playing this ragtag set of great songs. I only learned later that it was Uncle Tupelo!

9. Uncle Tupelo
I think all great bands have an internal tension that drives them, like the tension between Jeff & Jay.

since there's no "all the above" option (I like all three). Plus, BRC had that killer mullet back in the day.

19. Uncle Tupelo followed CLOSELY by Son Volt outdistance Wilco.
I pick UT because it truly was the best of both worlds.

Solo Jay and Jeff aren't bad.

What about Gob Iron? ;)
