If so, list them here! And if you have a recipe, all the better.

Two things: my husband doesn't like chocolate, and he loooves nuts. I have a bag of walnuts I'd like to use if possible.

1. Snickerdoodle
Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1 large egg
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
• 4 Tablespoons granulated sugar
• 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add the 1 cup sugar, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well blended. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer, and stir in remaining flour. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.

Combine the 4 tablespoons sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat. Place balls of dough 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes or until edges are beautifully golden. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.

5. I don't know.. I can't eat nuts.(allergy)
You could always make a small batch with nuts and test them out. I have let snickerdoodle dough sit in the fridge for a few days and it was fine. Make five or six cookies and see how they turn out with nuts in them.

And the snickerdoodle is my favorite cookie. My aunt sends me some every year for Christmas. She burns them a little so they go great with milk.

lucky lucky man! :hi:

Might think of lemon meringue pie. Have never tried it, but maybe I'll get brave. Meringue just seems so daunting!

You have a wonderful holiday, too! :hug::hug: back at you!

8. Jam Thumbprint cookies.
INGREDIENTS:

* 1 cup butter, softened
* 3/4 cup granulated sugar
* 2 teaspoons vanilla
* 1 teaspoon almond extract
* 2 1/2 cups flour (more if dough seems too thin)
* finely chopped pecans, almonds, or other nuts, optional
* jam, your favorite

PREPARATION:
Beat butter with an electric mixer at medium speed until creamy. Add sugar and the next 3 ingredients, blending well. Chill dough 2 to 4 hours. Roll dough into small balls, then roll in the chopped nuts, if using; place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Make an indention in the middle of each cookie and fill with jam. Bake at 300° for about 25 to 35 minutes, or until firm and lightly browned on the bottom.
Makes about 6 dozen

16. I definitely recommend blueberry jam.
The bag would NOT stay shut. :rofl:

I also didn't have any nuts, and rolled them in plain white sugar instead. :9

that looked pretty good!

I could always do that - half with chocolate chips, half w/o chocolate and all walnuts. Hmm.
