I have no idea if its for me...I'm nearsighted, wearing glasses since age 14, now about to be 31. I don't mind the glasses, but I'm curious. Good? Bad? Risky? Let me have it, DUers.

1. I had it done about 7 years ago. Best money I've ever spent on myself. |
|
Painless, no complications whatsoever, and I have at least 20/20 vision (if not slightly better).
If you are a good candidate for the surgery, I highly recommend it.

3. Basically, a stable glasses/contact lens prescription, no vision-related diseases that might affect |
|
the effectiveness of the surgery, have a common vision problem (nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism) that can be corrected by the surgery, and have thick-enough corneas so that the LASIK surgeon can cut a deep-enough flap in the cornea.

I'm good on the first 3, don't know about the corneas. But otherwise, set to go! :)
I'll check it out, thank you so much. :hi:

9. Did they tell you it doesn't last much longer than seven years? |
|
You have to go back every so often for a redo as your eyes continue to change as you get older

13. Some people need touch ups |
|
Her night vision was getting bad. She was seeing halos. This will hopefully fix it.

6. I think you look good with glasses... |
|
Are you willing to risk (the odds are small) of damaging or losing your vision if something goes wrong.
And BTW. I started wearing glasses at 12 and I am 30 now.

8. Aww, thank you, I agree... |
|
I'm pretty attached to my glasses, and think they look good on me. And no, probably not. I'm somewhat risk averse in the vision dept.
Merci, cher Ryan. :*

|
I love it and have had no problems. Still need non-perscription glasses to focus while reading but I knew that before the surgery.
