Are you addicted to lip balm?
Here's an important link to find out if YOU are an addict: http://www.aolvideoblog.com/2007/12/17/addicted-to-lip-balm/

I guess we'll have to have a War on Chapstick now.

3. Saw the video. BTW, thanks!
It made a lot of sense.

Those balm vendors do want to get people addicted. :grr:

4. Nonsense! You have to have an addictive personality in the first place and I've
never been addicted to anything in my life. Even smoking I gave up with no problem.

I use lip balm in the dry winter months and never in the moister late spring and summer months. If I were addicted I would be by now -- been doing it this way for many years.

5. It took me three tries to kick the tobacco habit
On the third try I went from two packs a day to zip.

That was 25 years ago and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

Three years after quiting, I still followed smokers just to be downwind of their fumes...

7. I don't mean to sound smug. I'm sorry for your plight. I don't consider myself any better
a person -- if anything, it's not fair that I didn't have to suffer and you did. You are the brave one, I was just lucky and I don't know if I could have done what you did.

But some people don't even TRY to quit because they assume that they're addicted, and give up. That's too bad. The main reason I quit was that I considered myself a nonsmoker. I just didn't want to be one any more!

8. I didn't meant to make you uncomfortable
I was just swapping war stories.

:hi:

It was a hard struggle; one I'm very proud of, but I did not mean to imply we were competing in any way.

Sorry about that;

14. Not your fault. I thought that I was a bit overbearing!
Anyway, you did a fine thing. You must have wanted it very much to overcome so much agony.

I know I did have smoking dreams for a few years after I quit. In my dream I'd be having "only an occasional" cigarette, when in reality I had none since January, 1981. I haven't had one of those dreams for many years now.

Every year I have a little celebration over my quitting smoking. I just wish my brother had stopped. He continued to smoke after 2 strokes. We knew the next one would kill him if he didn't stop. He didn't and it did. So sad and tragic...

6. One of my dad's engineers was once additcted to sinus spray.
No guff. Had to take time away from home to go into treatment. This was when I was in junior high or high school. My mom wouldn't have the stuff in the house after that.

9. So, this guy is saying that he's powerless over lip balm
and his life has become unmanageable?

Trust me, pal. The problem isn't lip balm.

11. No but I'm addicted to face cream.
I have to cream up my face after every shower or I dry up like a corn flake. Is this addiction?
