10. That's the pronunciation my rabbi in Seattle prefers
My rabbi in Florida, otoh, says "Judy-ism", which my rabbi in Seattle says sounds like it's about the lead actress in The Wizard of Oz. On the other hand, in Seattle, the cantor says "Adonai" and the Florida cantor says "Adonoy." "Shabbat shalom" is more common in the Pacific NW and "Gut Shabbos" is more common in FL. Even the rhythms of some of the melodies are different (which leads to me being out-of-tune and out-of-time).

The only constant, of course, is everyone has the same saying: "Two Jews, three opinions."

8. My ex used to call it Judy-ism
He said I'd invented my own religion.

He was probably right. I'm the only half-Jewish, Unitarian, Buddhist, Secular Pagan I know. The holidays are fantastic!
