Four possible paranormal happenings |
|
Since I've been at Bullwinkle's house, three rather weird things and one maybe-not-so-weird-but-coincidental thing have happened to make us think Mr. Bullwinkle may be trying to contact us. To wit:
1. Bullwinkle's ringtone for me is JFK's "ask not" line from his inaugural address, and I have the same one for her. She said no one else has that ringtone - she always knows it's me calling when she hears it. We were out shopping one day when her phone rang with that ringtone. She asked if I was calling her, and I said no. I do have a BlackBerry Pearl which I always forget to lock when it's in my purse, so I checked the call log, and I had not called her recently. Was it Larry?
2. Bullwinkle was looking for something in her closet when she heard a small voice. She listened to all of her purses and finally located the sound of a radio coming from Larry's bag with his Walkman which he took to chemo. When we opened it his Walkman was on. I looked at it, trying to find the power switch, when it suddenly shut off on its own. She had never heard that Walkman since his death in October. Was it Larry?
3. We were walking beautiful Lake Elizabeth in Fremont when suddenly a perfect "V" formation of pelicans flew overhead. Bullwinkle says she has never seen pelicans there. Larry loved pelicans. Was it Larry?
4. Bullwinkle was blow drying her hair yesterday when one of her hairs fell onto the sink in a perfect cursive capital "L." Was it Larry?
Also, some time ago Bullwinkle Jr. was driving and felt a smack on the back of her head. She was alone in the car. Was it Larry?
Call us nuts, but we can't help but wonder...O8)

2. the pelicans at fremont in formation shouldn't be that unusual but... |
|
the other stuff maybe, esp. the head smack
i would consider lighting a candle or whatever you do to meditate and see if you get an inner message of what it's all about
if i really need something in words, i would try the i ching and see what it says but maybe that's too kooky for you folks

3. I think this sort of thing comforts those left behind. |

I'm not sure anyone can say for sure that it is or isn't a paranormal thing. Funny thing about death--nobody REALLY knows for sure about this stuff.
You can call me a "moonbat" if you want to, but it all really comes down to faith. I'm not talking about the speaking in tongues kind of faith, I'm talking about the bone deep certainty that life does not end. Me, myself, I have had a few experiences in my life that lead me to believe that a soul doesn't end when the flesh loses functionality. Even when I miss someone horribly I now view it as being kind of like missing somebody when they go on vacation, rather than "I'll never see you again--woe is me!"
Depending on the faith of those involved, celebrate Larry's life, and maybe be open to the idea that he's still there in spirit trying to give the gift of faith to you all. Light a candle, say a prayer, meditate, or chant!
Regards!

4. Yeah it does, although it can break us up too. Just after mom passed away I |
|
was cleaning up in the back hall and I was thinking about her and wishing I could talk to her one more time, and right at that moment a piece of paper caught my eye. On it was written the word, "Good Bye".
It was actually a card my hubby's class had made for him when he left teaching, but it was very strange to have it turn up right at the time that it did.

ADC (After Death Communication). Also Pennies from Heaven is something Dear Abby used to have a lot of letter about.

6. As resident paranormal nut around here... |
|
The first two is very well in the realm of possible messages. The first could be just trying to get your attention and the second is to let you know he is still with you. the last two sounds more like coincidences.

7. IMO, yeppers, that was Larry--all four of 'em |
|
Rule of thumb: When a notion comes into your head that perhaps you've just received a "hi" from a loved one in the Otherworld, then you HAVE. In this world of "reason", we discount our gut reactions too much--dismiss our instincts as not worthy and reject seeing signs everywhere as being too woo-woo or overthinking the issue. Usually the excuse is that the human brain always wants to see patterns in everything--well duh, that's what the human brain is good at, and we see patterns everywhere because there ARE patterns everywhere. Same for paranormal experiences--they happen far more often than we give our dearly departed credit for.
So yeah, that was Larry--all four times--and he may say hi again and again. When he does, smile and send your love. Just as his messages reached their destination, your love will reach him.
