Many of you know my wife contracted a MRSA from a cat scratch.
Well, they pulled the PIC line out about 8 days ago. They were tracking an enzyme that indicates inflammation due to an infection. After three normal readings, they are convinced the infection is gone. I'm really impressed by the epidemiologist, so i trust his judgment.
He said "I know doctors never say 100%. But, i'm so close to 100% sure that i'll just say, 100% sure!" So, that's a good thing.
She has to go back once a month for two months for check-ups, but things are looking up.
The probiotics in the system are building back now and she's feeling a little better each day. Pretty close to feeling normal at this point.
Thanks to all who PM'd me to check up on her. Thanks to all those who sent out good vibes on the first thread.
The Professor
Edited for a typo.

I normally notice your posts. :(
I'm glad your wife is okay. Did this take a long time to diagnose and deal with?

3. We Dealt With It Since Sept. 2 |

It took five weeks to accurately diagnose it, including a surgery to drill out some infected bone and culture it.
She was on vancomycin twice a day, and ceftriaxone once a day. All by IV.
I got really good with that pump! The Professor

I really hope this becomes nothing more than a bad memory. |
|
I'll be thinking good thoughts about no side effects, after effect, or recurrences.
Wow. Almost 4 months dealing with this. :(
