2. Yes. We have no Dogfish Head in California
We have many great beers, the envy of craft brew fans everywhere, but we have no Three Floyds or Dogfish Head.

3. So, you're drinking beer from Delaware?
You've gotta tell us... did they add the cost of the tolls onto the shipping and handling? :P

4. Lol...well they charged me something like $12 to send it
But I am in the process of finding the perfect IPA, so it was money well spent

So far Three Floyds Dreadnaught IPA is the clear winner.

They carry beer from the West Coast for East Coast brewfans
They carry beer from the East Coast for West Coast brewfans
They carry beer from the Midwest for both
And they carry WC and EC beer for the Midwest.

Cheers!

Alpha Klaus - haven't tried it yet
Dogfish 120 IPA - WHOA, FUCKING WHOA!!!! Incredibly sweet, hoppy and alcoholic. I've only had 1/4 and I'm already feeling groovy. 21%....wow.

20. I have to try those...
What's your thoughts on the DH 120?

This stuff is insane - I think I'll stick the other 3 in my cellar for aging.

22. I like the 120
but it needs aging. When new it has a very strong alcohol burn, if you cellar it for 6 months it smooths out and is quite enjoyable. I have some 2005 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot barleywine and in a side by side comparison I like the DFH far better.

I brewed a clone of the DFH and have had it in my basement for almost 2 years and it is very nice. Its not as hoppy as the DFH but otherwise the flavor profile is the same

23. Dogfish does a 60min - which is the regular stuff you find in the stores
90min is the high end one

18. Not yet, but it's on my beer list now!
3 Floyds is really good. If you can get it, Bear Republic's Hop Rod Rye IPA is really good. Green Flash Imperial IPA is really good too. If you can make it to Berkeley, Triple Rock has an IPA on tap that is amazing called IPAX. And of course, Russian River makes the Plinys that I love (Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger) - both at 9%!

I live in PA so it's not hard to find.

Glad you are enjoying it!

all this talk makes me think I need to run out to the brew store - I didn't get my usual winter/Christmas ales yet...

24. See - Delaware does have some good stuff
I love Dogfish and if anyone has been to any of the DU parties I've hosted in DC or NYC - there has always been a case of Dogfish at my parties.

What's nice is when Dogfish offers the Tacklebox, which is a sampler case of 4 of their different beers.

BTW, Dogfish is not brewed near me. It's brewed down in Rehobeth Beach in Slower Delaware

26. It's interesting to see other parts of the country put their take on the IPA
Out on the West Coast, the "home of the American IPA" we hopped the crap out of the beer and went for brute force, assuming the IPA gave us license to go for broke on the IBU scale. In the Midwest and East Coast, they put their own touches on it. I like all the styles personally.
