Poll question: Bird popularity contest: Blue-jays vs. cardinals (Round Two)
Edited on Sat Dec-29-07 05:23 PM by brentspeak
Round One, a few months ago, went to Mr. and Ms. Cardinal. Here's Round Two of the "round robin" contest (heh heh).

30. They are such clowns!
We have them in the mountains here, too. And when my mother was still alive in Oregon, they used to hang upside down on her bird feeder chain in order to get seeds. They were too big to perch on the feeder.

7. Cardinals for me.
IMO, there is nothing prettier than that flash of red against the snow. Jays are beautiful, but noisy and have terrible manners at the feeder!

13. yah.
If you watch jays at the feeders for a while you start to side with the more polite birds.

12. well the blue jays
MY blue jays anyway, can be so loud and mean sometimes and they're twice as big as the cardinals and three times the size of the sparrows! I voted for cardinals because the ones in my yard get bullied a lot, but I LOVE the blue jays :loveya:

14. Cardinals
Blue Jays are the thugs and punks of the bird world. Though I have to admit Cardinals aren't too bright.

21. That's a difficult choice,
Blue-Jays are assholes..but geesh I gotta love them. What other bird screeches CAT CAT when a kitty is around? I can still see my dear old departed Sir Tom laying on his back, belly in the air, and a big Blue-Jay dive bombing him. They played that way for a while, finally both gave up.

Course, I can also still "feel" where a Momma Blue Jay got me when I accidently found one of her kids one day.

Cardinals are pretty..maybe a more peaceful bird.
