BREMERTON, Wash. -- A 25-year-old woman was arrested for investigation of second-degree assault for getting into an argument with her boyfriend over whether his dog should be in the bathroom while the couple were taking a shower together.

A police report said the 26-year-old man wanted his dog to join them in the bathroom, but the woman objected on Thursday night.

She told him if the dog wouldn't stay out, she didn't want to be his girlfriend anymore. He replied that maybe his next girlfriend would appreciate the dog more, and called her a name.

The police report said the woman punched him in the face several times and the man dislocated his shoulder when the naked couple grappled. He told police his girlfriend threw a picture frame, which broke and cut him.

The woman was taken to the Kitsap County Jail in Port Orchard. Bail has been set at $50,000.

1. I have one question:
Did the 26 year old want the dog to join them in the bathroom or in the shower?

3. That's a classic!
The police must have had a hard time holding back the laughs.
Hope the dog is OK.

4. Used to have a cat that liked to "watch"
Creeped me out a little, especially in the dark.

Can't believe this ended up in a physical fight though. Guess that's what passes for fun in Bremerton these days......

6. You know what _I_ find ironic...?
That everyone here is treating an incident where a woman attacks a man, resulting in him sustaining a dislocated shoulder and cuts from broken glass, as funny.

If the roles had been reversed, the woman had wanted the dog in the bathroom, and the man had caused such injuries to the woman, you'd probably all be practically calling for the death penalty for the guy, and warning anyone amused at the dog-in-shower circumstances that "there's nothing funny about domestic abuse."

8. Agreed, however...
People who are not in the situation can sometimes see humor in the absurdity of the reasons BEHIND the argument / fight - we aren't necessarily laughing about the actual violence.

I was in a relationship like this one once, and it was my wife (now ex) who did all the physical violence toward me. Needless to say when the cops got called (which happened several times), they didn't ask ME if SHE had hurt me or done anything to me - they always asked HER whether I had hurt her. Let me tell you, it got me pretty steamed but there really was nothing I could do - I didn't want the cops there in the first place, and I knew they would never believe me if I said that I was the one on the receiving end of the abuse so of course I said nothing. Fortunately for me, she didn't take advantage of the situation by claiming that I had been the abuser.

But anyway.... lighten up, like the person above said it's the lounge!

:-)
