I decided not even to drive anywhere after dark tonight. Considering the roads around here were a stealth skating rink of black ice last night without all the fools on the road, it was probably a good decision. Hopefully none of them will hit the street light in front of my house.

...in Northern Orange County last New Year, I vowed never to do it again. I swear I was the only sober person on the road at 2am on New Year's Day (and the roads were full). I saw people driving on the freeway at 10mph, using all the lanes (and most of the verge); people driving at 100mph+ and squeezing between cars in adjacent lanes; people standing around the wrecks of their cars at the side of the road; even one character going the wrong way up the I10. The lunacy seemed endless.
This year, we stayed home.

4. And that, my dear MrScorpio, is why I stay home on New Year's Eve. |

I'd rather live to see the new year. ALL of it.
