When I was a kid, my aunt and uncle and cousins lived next door, and Richard was my idol. When I was 6, he introduced me to rock 'n' roll — he played piano in a band that covered "Bumble Boogie" and "Nut Rocker" by B. Bumble and the Stingers, and I well remember him playing them in our living room, and on "Record Hop" on channel 11. He taught me to sing the bass part to "Duke of Earl," taught me about peeling out in cars and that 36-24-36 was the Perfect Girl. Later, I watched him race his MG Midget in parking-lot rallies.
I saw him today for the first time in like 20 years, and he has a "Viva Bush!" sticker on his Ford Aerostar.
I'm so disillusioned.

1. Maybe he's displaying it ironically. |
|
Or maybe he has a cold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H6DSoqZz_sWatching people we respect go Freeper/Conservative is an awful process. I'm sorry your childhood hero has turned out to be a disappointment.

3. Could he have bought the car used? |
|
I know somebody who had a Bush sticker on his car just because he bought it used and couldn't get the damn thing off.
I also know somebody who had an old Clergy sticker on the front windshield of his car from the previous owner... and his own pagan stickers all over the rest of the car. :P

I forget how the conversation got around to it, but he mentioned that when he gets gas and stuff, people sometimes give him shit about the sticker. Before that, I hadn't noticed it.
My sister, ever the peacemaker, said, "Well, we're family, so we'll just have to agree to disagree."
Too bad. I would've enjoyed that argument.

7. Yeah, having a pro-Shrub sticker on an Aerostar is like having an Enver Hoxha sticker on a Prius |
