Britney Wheeled Out on a Gurney!! |
|
http://www.tmz.com/2008/01/04/britney-wheeled-out-on-a-gurney/We're told Britney is being taken to a local hospital on a "medical hold" -- essentially a mental evaluation. Cops found her earlier this evening at her home under the influence of an "unknown substance."My money is on heroin. What's yours on?

1. I can't make fun of people who are in danger of losing their lives... |
|
...I've come too close myself.
Yeah, it's funny to make fun of celebrities; but these are people, at the end of the day.

6. Unfortunately, it is, considering the popularity of the Jerry Springer show. |
|
Too many of us are into "haw haw, at least it's not me" instead of "how can I help".

|
People with untreated addiction and/or mental illness many times aren't in the best position to assess their own illness or the damage caused by it. I'd rather err on the side of compassion in instances like this than stand in judgment.

Would any of us want to be Britney right now? Didn't think so.
Her life sucks enough. There is really nothing to be gained by holding her up to ridicule.

22. Britney stopped being funny a long time ago |
|
I can't laugh at her meltdown anymore, and I'm the Queen of Schadenfreude. It's gone from comedy to tragedy, the girl is just a hot mess and I hope she can get some help, for the sake of her kids.

This is a legitimate post. There was nothing in the OP that ridiculed her (though she's more than deserving). There was a guess as to the substance she's abusing at the moment, but nothing of a mocking or derogatory nature. Lighten up. Sometimes a post is just a post.

10. This pisses me off....let me explain why |
|
I was grossed out years ago when E! decided to bank on the fact that Anna Nicole Smith was killing herself slowly.
Spears is in obvious need of actual help and instead of helping her, those around her (whether it be friends, family, or employees) are using her. As a mom, my heart aches for her.

21. I think she has the compassion |
|
The discussion, or gossip, is about the cause of her hospitalization.
Remember, she has loads of money to be able to afford the best medical care availble, which is something that 99% of the country does not.
If she does not turn around, it will be entirely her responsibility. It won't be because her insurance company denied her claim or refused to pay for a treatment, or she lived far from a good medical center.
So, yeah, I hope she get better and cleans up her act before she dies prematurely. But I'm not going to worry about her as much as I worry about, say, the people in the documentry "Sicko".

This has been my train of thought since she shaved her damn head.
How can any parent watch their child break down in public and NOT do anything? I don't care what the consequences are...if Spears was my child, I would have camped outside her door until I had a chance to talk to her. If she refused to talk, I would be there the next day, the day after that, the day after that, etc...

It's not mental illness.
It's fucking meth.
Either she goes to a *SERIOUS* drug rehab, or she is going to end up like several of the people I once knew.
Dead. :-(

But that's her problem. She is rich beyond imagination, selfish, and has absolutely no values whatsoever. That combination so often leads to suicide.
