..PUI, let me just say it's not such a good idea to post while under the influence of beta blockers, either...
if one is prone to depression, anyway.
Why would my doctor listen to me? What did I know...? :sarcasm:
Oh, and, yes... I switched doctors (and BP medicine). I'm finally feeling like my old self.
And, for the first time, I completely understand why people go off of their blood pressure medicine(s).
You never really know, sometimes, until you've been there.
p.s., It's probably not a good idea to delete one's entire photobucket account either. :eyes:

the new BP medicine is also used for people who get migraines. The funny thing (well, not funny-funny...but, you know) is that I have not had a headache in a week (I used to get one about every other day). So, maybe my headaches were migraines. Anyway, I'm very pleased with the new medicine... and the new doctor!

I wish I could have taken the doctors I had in Minnesota with me.

8. If you don't mind going over to Newport Beach... |
|
Dr. Lynn M. Stanton was the best doctor I ever had.
He once told me, "Hypochondriacs are people too!" I loved that guy!!
I'll tell you what a great person he is... he used to take his whole staff
to Hawaii once a year!! :-)

I missed my friends. To tell you the truth, I'm still not sure I should come back. But I felt I owed some kind of explanation... even if it seemed like a poor excuse.

The generic name of what I took was Metoprolol.
I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. :-(

23. yikes , nothing fucked me up as much as beta blockers |
|
5 months ago , after presenting to the good doc with a resting pulse rate of 125 (probably brought on by anxiety) , he gave some tropral-XL ? samples (a beta blocker).
I took 25 mg for 4 days , each day I end up feeling like I am just going to faint and die , then later start bawling my eyes out in front of the mirror.
worse medicine I have ever taken, I would rather die from a heart attack rather than live like that.
Anyway , all my heart tests (EKG ,blood, Echocardiagram) came back normal , so the doc told me to stop the beta blockers and not pay much attention to my rapid pulse.
sorry you went through this

It was like talking to a wall. The good news is my new doctor believes me... I think his nurse told him about the way I yelled, "At this point, a stroke would be preferable!" when she (the nurse) suggested I take the beta blocker a couple of more weeks.
Thanks for the "welcome home"!

Norvasc works great in emergencies but it made my legs swell from the knees down. I've never felt an altered mood though. That I know of.
Felt really really really really tired on a couple of different ones. My Doc says there's something like 60 different BP meds.

It was Metoprolol (not that it really matters). Supposedly, only 5% have a reaction like I did. Lucky me. :eyes:
I'm glad there are 60 different kinds... otherwise, I would have had to take my chances without!
