Countdown to having health insurance |
|
2 days to go and my back is totally fucked up. I've used ice and heat and massage. I've taken aspirin, tylenol, ibuprofen and vicodin. Must. Tolerate. Two. More. Days. ARGH!! I'm sure it's probably psychosomatic, my body KNOWS the insurance won't kick in until Tuesday so it's taunting me. I don't hate my body for getting stretch marks and wrinkles. Resent the gray hairs a little bit but the thing I'm really fired up about is the stupid aches and pains of getting old. Maybe I'm just a total wuss but geeze, I'm only 41, do I have to have arthritis already?

I hope it's normal osteoarthritis, and as little of that as possible. I'm glad you have health insurance.

is it rheumatoid? I was tested for rheumatoid in my 20s but it was negative then. My dad, however, had to retire early because rheumatoid arthritis made him unable to any fine motor skills with his hands. Knock on wood, my hands are mostly okay but I know I've got arthritis in my spine as well as 2 herniated disks. I'm sort of hoping that the rest of this pain is just from some compressed nerves in the spine and a couple cortisone injections will keep that at bay. Getting old sucks.

4. No at 6 it was a congenital type of osteoarthritis |
|
I started having symptoms at 6, complained and was told it was all in my head. At 13 they did bone scans, still telling me it was all in my head. At age 29 I had the first of two total left hip replacements because the head of my femur nearly collapsed and the acetabulum (the socket part of the joint) had worn to less than a playing card's thickness.
