Computer geeks- Help me with my wireless mouse problems please! |
I have a Microsoft wireless optical mouse 2.0 & it is acting funny. My cat swatted it onto the floor the other day and it hasn't acted right since. It works fine sometimes & then it will delay when I move it around the screen. I have cleaned the lens, I have replaced the battery, I have reset the channel, I have reinstalled the software & unplugged the usb port & nothing has helped. Do I need to buy a new one? If I do, it is coming out of Flea Taxi's catnip budget!!!! (just kidding, he was just being a cat).

1. My guess is that you'll have to buy a new one... |
...Without looking at it, my guess is that the lens is slightly out of whack. My son did the same thing to mine and it would do the jitter-bug across my screen every 5 minutes. Optical mice are cheap though. 15 bucks at your local computer store.

3. It took a good hit when it was swatted off the desk. |
It probably has been dropped too many times. I've had it for three or four years now, buying a new one is my only option it would seem. I might get one of those "razor" brand air mouses, it doesn't need to be on any surface to work.

4. Nope, he's a good boy. |
He just likes to swipe at things I leave out. He never pukes on anything other than the floor.
