About drinking (my drinking, specifically).
Greetings, Lounge.

It has occurred to me that I am leaving the impression with some of you that I drink a lot. I'm sure that this has resulted from my many episodes of posting under the influence, certain drinking contests, and other flattering discussions of alcohol use.

I want to apologize for leaving this impression with many of you. Especially those of you who may have struggled with substance abuse in the past, I am especially sorry for concerning you. I assure you, with Mr. Writer at my side, that my drinking is extremely minimal - I estimate no more than two to three drinks a week. I also take a medicine that enhances the effects of alcohol, so even one drink will knock me off-kilter, hence the messy typing or other silly posts.

I come to the DU Lounge to unwind, and I suppose I've been taking the "lounge" concept a little too literally.

But again, my humblest apologies to anyone I may have offended or concerned.

Best,

~Writer~

16. Here's my question... how come a beer in the middle of the day is acceptable,
but wine or hard liquor is met with a "Oooh. It's a bit early in the day, isn't it?"

(I DO like your sig, actually)

It sort of reminds me of this Jim Gaffigan bit

22. Same here.
My difference is I use the Lounge is as stream of consciousness; posting about any weird thing that pops into my mind or what I'm in reference doing at the particular time. And on reflection, I've been getting back into bad habits in that regard too...

24. I wouldn't worry about that.
(this is aside from the drinking issues)

It's an online forum that I think a few take too damned seriously. They have their entire ego rolled up and stuffed into this place. Don't challenge their world view - heresy! Don't question their opinion - travesty! Don't suggest that they should show a little respect for others - oh, please remove the knife impaling my precious eyeball!

Don't worry about it. Enjoy yourself.

28. But the gold matches his shirt so well
I think the reason the huffers like the metallic paints is that there's more of the chemical in them that makes them high. I think the heirarchy is gold, silver, and bronze in that order.

And I don't know why I know so much about huffing paint, either.
